A Moose in the Water.

So this afternoon we decided we would go and see if we could catch any fish, but instead we got to see this Eagle, and then a Moose.
Here are the photos of the moose that we got to see today, dief was going mental trying to get into the water so he could go and hang out with it.

Heres Dief trying to get as close as he can to the Moose.

It's all about the Pelicans

This is scott and dief on our way back from seeing the pelicans. Dief likes to be up on his dads legs.
This is me with my hood up so that all the millions of horse flies cant get me, well the back of my neck anyways.
This is seeing the pelicans tonight, we went to take some more photos and check out to see if they were still about.
This was from earlier on in the day, we more or less drove right through them all so they would fly about, was cool to see.
This is one of the feathers that scott found floating about in the water.
Pelicans in different types of flight.
Here you can see roughly how many there are about.

Dief chilling with his dad again...bless.

Yes its summer, and look its loads of photos of dief

Here is a photo of a spider scott found when he was cleaning out a boat motor, pretty cool eh.
Finally, after a long while here is a lovely photo of myself and scott, i think we are both looking a bit tanned now...yay finally.
Here is dief looking after the boat as we fish on the dock.
There is scott getting ready for another evening of trying to catch some fish, while dief watches and gets some tips about how to set up his rod.
Here is another lovely photo of something else i have baked, yes they are very tasty and we do still have some left even though its been 2 days...madness.
Here is dief after him and scott decided to go into the water, crazy fools, no so smart after they came out and the horse flies starting attacking them. At least dief went in and got his stick.
This is at the Indian cabins, we went to see how many weeds were about, and there was a lot.
Dief making sure we were going the right way.

Dief with one of his ears caught backwards, bless him.

Here is a photo of me holding my 7lb Pike, I know I look like a child in this photo, but I was soo pumped to have finally caught a big (big for me) fish. Plus I hadnt caught anything in 3 weeks so I was very happy. Scott also showed me how to fillet it.
Here are some of the strawberries we picked up the hill, I know they look small, but dam they are freaking tasty.

Fishing'

So today we didn't get up to much. Another lazy Sunday at the lodge. We did however go to the dock and try to catch a few fish. The only ones that seem to be biting this time of summer are the pike, which are mostly small, aggressive, and too small to keep.

Here's a pic of Louise (she says I don't take enough) trying to catch the mighty Pike!

The lake is starting to weed up a bit, but you can still manage to get around fairly well. We haven't really left the bay in front of the lodge in about a week now so we will see what the rest of the lake is like in the next couple of days.

Also, as Lou added the other day, I had moved our cookie barrel into the shop to keep the would be cookie monster ( Mr. Bear) away from the lodge.

Here's a short video of Dief vs. Ralph ( I call all the squirrels Ralph, I don't know why)

Sorry, it's a bit sideways, but still funny nonetheless.

Here's a pic of Dief doing what he usually does down on the dock, triumphantly guarding any piece of clothing of mine I'm not wearing.

mid july

today we went out fishing and what did we see but, not just 2 pelicans but 6 ( i know in the photos there is only 5 but there was 6 of them), was really cool they were just flying above us. i think they knew that we are crap at fishing as they then went off.

this is a photo of me, i know an actually photo of me, i think now thats 3 of my on this blog now, and it shows that i do actually try and fish. you can also see where dief spends most of his time while we are out fishing. im not sure why im smiling as i didnt catch anything.
heres the dief, doing his thang.
and heres scott having as much luck as me at fishing...we rock.
here is some corn bread that scott made, it was gone in about 2 minutes.
this is the cabin that scott put the window in, and they we both painted it, just need to finish a couple bits off.
and heres the other extension that is now painted.
here is a squirrel in a barrel that has some cookies in, we had to take it into the shop as a little bear came into the camp and started eating it, but the bear hasnt been back since we took the barrel out of view, but the squirrels still know where to find the goods and dief knows where the find the squirrels.
the bear print
some choc-chip, banana and rum cookies i made....yum
putting the floor into the extension, only took us about 1 hour 30 mins.
dief hiding under the table as we were putting the flooring down.
